Seal

I don't know about you but I really love this time of year in the Bay - The weather is starting to settle and the nights are getting lighter, which means summer is just around the corner!  I took advantage of the light evening yesterday zipped around 'The Mount' after work... That is where I met this little guy - He was so cute it just made my day.

Doormat

I found this really cool idea in the weekend that I thought you might like too... Basically you get yourself a standard rubber doormat and then spray paint it in an awesome bright colour - It's a great way to funk up your front or back door.  I went to Bunnings yesterday to get some spray paint to do this to a mat I currently have and had to leave empty handed as there were too many colours to choose from... Being that its such a statement piece I decided that I need to think about it and figure out what colour works.  I will post a pic later once I have done it.

Most amazing Lemon Yogurt Cake recipe ever!

So I LOVE to bake – If I could bake for my friends and family every day I would.  A few months ago I found this most delicious Lemon Cake Recipe which is now a crowd favorite... It is so yummy and easy to make and too good not to share! x

LEMON YOGHURT CAKE

Ingredients
  • 13/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2-3 tsp. of lemon juice
  • grated rind of 2 lemons
  • 3/4 cups oil
  • 1 cup of vanilla yoghurt
  • 2 cups of self-rising flour
Syrup
  • 100g caster sugar
  • juice of 2 or 3 lemons (depends on how tangy you like it)
  • Zap in microwave to dissolve, about 30 seconds.

Directions
  1. In a bowl, mix rind, oil, eggs and sugar with a fork.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and combine well.
  3. Pour into greased ring tin and bake at 180 C for 30 minutes.
  4. Take out and poke holes all over with a skewer and pour over the syrup.
Sometimes if I am making it extra special I will also ice it with a standard lemon icing sugar/butter icing. YUM!

All that's Gold & Glittery

I am like a magpie when it comes to gold and glittery things at the moment and am currently on the hint for a few glam pieces for my wardrobe.  Above are a few things that caught my eye on Pinterest... I just love the look of casual with a bit of Glitz...

Nail Art

Is it just me or is Nail Art now everywhere???  Almost every second pin in Pinterest seems to be some sort of wild and wacky nail art.  I am not really sure whether I like it or hate it... I have always been a short plain coloured nail person, but I have found a few pictures above that I really quite like.  I might just give a few of them a go over the next couple of weeks.  What are your thoughts?

On my wish list

As we say goodbye to winter and hello to summer I have made a pat with myself that I will endeavor to buy more coloured clothing than black for the rest of the year.  I don't know about you but I am just loving the colours that are hip this season, so I don't think it should be too much of an issue.  Below are a couple of things that are on my current wishlist.

Emerge Coloured Jeans in Rosehip
$49 - Ezibuy

Stripe Tank Dress
$149 - Country Road

Crossover Top
$39 - Glassons

Nourish Cafe

Just thought I would let those of you who don’t know already how lovely Nourish Café in Te Puna is.  Being the sister cafe of Alimento in 1st Avenue the great reputation is already there - But if you haven’t been out there yet you must put it on your to do list.

Being an ex-local the concept of a lovely café, serving amazing food in the place that I grew up is just perfect.  But for the non-locals - The food is delicious and with Nourish being only 10 minutes from Tauranga CBD it’s the perfect excuse to get out town and indulge.

Pink bits

For those who know me this will come as no surprise… I really like pink!  Just recently I have started seeing a few very neutral colored interiors with the addition of pink accessories and I love it.  My bedroom currently is rather plain with the white/grey style, but I think it could do with a bit of colour especially with summer coming up. So I am now on the lookout for a lovely throw and perhaps some other bits to follow suit – I will keep you posted and update a pic soon.

Dancing Shoes

I found this picture on Pinterest recently and thought it was too cool not to share - The ultimate wedding favor! I can't even begin to tell you how many weddings I have gone to and my feet have killed me. So I think this idea is brilliant!

A little about me

Hi there,

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I think I may be a little late off the mark as far as 'Blogging' goes - to be honest I was a bit of a technophobe up until a month or so ago, so better late than never as they say huh?!

What I want to achieve here is just a place where I can share all my 'Loves' - fashion, shopping, home inspiration, food, family/friends and life in beautiful Bay of Plenty.

I will endeavour to update this blog several times a week with anything I find interesting and I think might be of interest to you.  Shopping finds, housewares & craft ideas, fashion tips, recipes...  I hope you enjoy and

So thanks again for joining me and I hope to hear from you soon.
